The brunette girl, clad in a blue dress, wandered into the gardens. She peered through her large sunglasses at each flower, smiling absentmindedly. She had come to appreciate the lovely place over the years, and it was a nice place to study. The girl moved with grace, as was her namesake. Grace stopped in front of a rose bush, smiling widely at the smell. She loved the smell of roses, loved the look and feel of them. She reached a hand out and lightly brushed the petals of a ruby-colored rose. It swayed slightly under her delicate touch, and Grace grinned. The girl detached herself from the rose bush and wandered farther into the garden, books tucked under her arm.
Class hadn't begun quite yet, but that didn't mean the girl couldn't get a little ahead in her studies. She'd brought her Transfiguration book, her Care of Magical Creatures book, and an extra book on healing. She was getting to the age where she needed to seriously think about what she was going to do for the rest of her life, career-wise. Grace had considered following the path of her father, becoming a writer. She doubted that she would ever be as successful as he was, but it made her happy just thinking about it. Still, if one did what they loved, who cared if they were famous for it?
There was also the thought of pursuing something involving magical creatures. To teach at Hogwarts wasn't in the cards for her, but she would love to go out and care for dragons and hippogriffs out in the countryside. Then there was healing. Grace loved healing, liked the feeling helping people gave her. Healers were always so beautiful and nurturing in her mind, like angels sent from above to grace the world with their knowledge and affection. With that thought, Grace settled down on the bench and opened up the book on Transfiguration, the sun glinting off the white pages. She soon got lost in the knowledge, not aware of her surroundings.
